Friends
since they were children, after having attended the elementary school,
each one of them went his own way, but in 1984 they met again and took
over the management of famous nocturnal premisesof Sorrento, where
the tarantella, the popular dance of 1600 was performed. The show was addressed
for the most part to a public of tourists, Nicola and Maurizio thought the
tarantella was the best expression of the sorrentine culture, but their love
for this land induced them to put the maximum of the professionality in the
dances and songs to show to the tourists, their dream was to realize
a show that could be called such, because they thought that to the millions
of visitors that came on excursion to Capri, Pompeii, Amalfi and Vesuvio,
nothing was left about Sorrento. Finally in 1997 Nicola and Maurizio
obtained the concession from the Town Council of Sorrento, of the
old TassoTheatre. After two years of hard work, together with the director,
the choreographer, the scenographer and the costume designer, and
after a long selection of artists they succeeded in creating a show that told
the four moments of the daily life of the southern people, the market, the
sea, the love and the festivity all enclosed in the SORRENTO MUSICAL. Today,
after two years Nicola and Maurizios dream is realized, the proof comes
from the fact that to the visitors of Sorrento finally something remains about
Sorrento.
